Mission Statement for OFTC’s Adult Education Program

The mission of the Oconee Fall Line Technical College Adult Education Program is to enable every adult learner in our Service Delivery Area to obtain the necessary skills in language arts and math to be able to transition into post-secondary education, compete successfully in today’s workplace, and be productive citizens.

Areas of Service

  • Provide basic skills instruction through free classes, open to the public
  • Successfully prepare students to pass the High School Equivalency (HSE) exam – GED or HiSET
  • Transition students that have completed the program and gained their high school equivalency to post-secondary or employment
  • Provide workplace literacy programs through integrated education and training (IET)
  • Offer English as a Second Language (ESL) classes
