Wiggins Named OFTC’s Summer 2021 Randy Helton Family Scholarship Recipient

The Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) Foundation North announced Shiina Gaston Wiggins of Dublin as the recipient of the summer 2021 Randy Helton Family Scholarship.

Wiggins takes Early Childhood Care and Education classes on the college’s Dublin campus.

Established in 2019 by the OFTC Foundation North, the Randy Helton Family Scholarship purposes to honor long serving Trustee Randy Helton and his service to the College and the Foundation.

Recipients of the scholarship must maintain a GPA of 3.0, submit an essay on why they chose OFTC, and have a faculty recommendation.

“Shiina is the true example of what the Helton Family looks for in scholarship applicants,” shared Kathy Aaron, Executive Director of the OFTC Foundation North and member of the Helton family. “Working two jobs while attending college and paying for her classes, Shiina is dedicated and determined in her program of study.”

“The OFTC Foundation North congratulates Shiina on her accomplishments and for being selected as the scholarship recipient,” Aaron added.
