Dr. Meghan McBride to address OFTC Grads during Spring Commencement

Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) will host their 2019 Spring Commencement and GED Graduation at the Dubose Porter Business and Industry Training Center in Dublin Thursday, June 13 at 7:00 P.M.

The College will confer graduates with associate degrees, diplomas and technical certificates of credit in a variety of high-demand fields in Georgia, and General Education Diploma’s (GED).

Dr. Meghan McBride, Dean for Adult Education at Georgia Piedmont Technical College in Atlanta, will address the graduates and serve as keynote speaker.

McBride graduated from Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) in Moultrie with her GED in 2000. She continued her education at SRTC and earned diplomas in Business and Medical Administrative Technology.

But it didn’t stop there for McBride; She went on to earn an Associate of Science degree from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in 2005 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies Education from Valdosta State University (VSU) in 2007.

After teaching high school social studies for several years, McBride pursued a graduate degree in order to pursue a career in higher education. She earned a Master of Arts degree in History from VSU in 2011 and went on to teach college-level history. With hopes of advancing her career even further, McBride went on to complete a Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction at VSU in 2018.

These achievements led to McBride being named a Distinguished Alumni at SRTC and Doctoral Student of the Year at VSU in 2017.

McBride currently resides in metro Atlanta with her husband, Joel, and their youngest son, Brayden. Her two oldest children, Jacob and Bailey, still reside in Moultrie.
