OFTC’s Solathia Black Receives Eastman Pilot Club Scholarship

The Eastman Pilot Club recently selected a recipient for one of their scholarships. Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) Practical Nursing student, Solathia Black is the recipient of the 2021 Joyce B. Jones Nursing Scholarship. 

The mission of Pilot International is to influence positive change in communities. So, their focus is encouraging brain safety and health and supporting those who care for others.

Because of her desire to become a nurse and her educational pursuits, Black’s goals support the Pilot International’s mission.

“We are proud to award Solathia this scholarship. And we wish her the best as she continues her education in nursing,” shared Nylan Hinson, Eastman Pilot Club member.

OFTC’s Practical Nursing Program prepares graduates to give competent nursing care. And full-time student can complete the program in five semesters.

But, a variety of grants and scholarships are available to OFTC students including Georgia’s Hope Career Grant. This grant offers free tuition in majors aligned in industries where there are more jobs than workers to fill them.
