Skills Needed and Description of Job:

Assist in all aspects of Channel Catfish production: monitoring water quality, spawning and rearing larval catfish(seasonally), feeding, harvest and delivery of fish.  As well as ALL aspects of equipment, vehicle and facilities maintenance.  Rewarding but physically and mentally demanding/challenging job. Outside 90% of the time – hands on.

Job Requirements:

  • 2 years of fisheries/life science/aquaculture college level study or equivalent FARM / FISHERIES work experience
  • some experience with trucks & farm equipment
  • must be willing to relocate within ~20 minutes of the farm
  • must be able to lift 75lbs to shoulder height
  • seasonally long hours with  nights & evening  work (April => September)
  • some weekend work required year round
  • MUST BE US Citizen and speak fluid English
  • clean driving record and valid current drivers license & able to back up a trailer
  • willingness to work in all weather conditions ( safely of course)

Qualifications:

Additional Qualifications we would strongly consider in place of advanced education:

  • Spanish speaking
  • CDL drivers license or experience
  • heavy equipment experience
Hours/Week: Depends on the season; 5 or 6 days a week and some nights and evenings. Shift:  Flexible schedule depending on the season.
Salary:   $11.00-$15.00/hour Benefits:  Will be discussed at interview.
Travel Necessary:  Yes Relocation:   Yes within 20 minutes of the farm.
