OFTC Respiratory Care Instructor & Student Present at Georgia Society for Respiratory Care Winter Meeting

Oconee Fall Line Technical College’s (OFTC) Respiratory Care program was one of five higher education programs selected to attend and present at the Georgia Society for Respiratory Care (GSRC) winter meeting held at Georgia State University in Atlanta, February 25.

The GSRC is the professional organization for Respiratory Therapists in the state of Georgia, and their winter meeting is a conference held for students and practitioners to come together to present, network, and learn about trending and existing information

OFTC Respiratory Care student, Samantha Johnson, was selected to participate in a student-portion of the meeting where she presented a case study on a patient.

Johnson was recommended by faculty members of OFTC’s program and selected by the GSRC to present. Her case presentation was 10 minutes long and included information about the patient’s history, diagnosis, medications, laboratory values and care plan.

Other student presenters were from Georgia State University, Augusta State University, Southern Crescent Technical College, and Georgia Southern University.

Kelley Braxton, Director of Clinical Education for OFTC’s Respiratory Care program was also asked by the GSRC to present during the meeting.
