OFTC Student Awarded Johnny Howard Scholarship

James Daniel Roland of Rentz has been awarded the Johnny Howard Scholarship by the OFTC South Foundation.  Daniel is a 2016 graduate of West Laurens High School and is enrolled in the Welding & Joining Technology Program at Oconee Fall Line Technical College.

The Johnny Howard Scholarship is given in memory of Johnny Buford Howard, a life-long resident of Laurens County, who was a dedicated welding and joining instructor at Heart of Georgia Technical College for 9 years.  The scholarship was established in 2007 by the College Foundation after the untimely death of Mr. Howard.
