OFTC Pharmacy Program Granted Max Accreditation Referral After Mid-Term Review
The Pharmacy Technology Program at Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) in Dublin was recently granted a “continue accreditation without limitation” referral thru 2021 by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
The referral was granted after a thorough review of the college’s mid-term progress report.
“Being granted the six-year max for accreditation is quite an accomplishment for the college,” shared OFTC Pharmacy Program Director Jack Shepherd. “In the industry being an accredited institution is prestigious among pharmacy tech educational programs.”
“I am really excited that after a thorough review of the mid-term progress report by the Board of Directors of ASHP and ACPE that we have been granted the maximum time allowed by this accreditation agency before another site visit,” Shepherd said. “I want to thank my department chair, dean, president, and institutional effectiveness coordinator for all their support to ensure we satisfied the accreditation standards and that we are granted accreditation without limitation.”
OFTC offers a Pharmacy Technology diploma and Associate of Applied Science degree which prepares students for employment in a pharmacy as Certified Pharmacy Technicians. The program is now accepting new students to begin this fall semester which starts August 20.
