OFTC Hosts the Technical College System of Georgia State Board

Members of the TCSG State Board and other state staff met on the campus of Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) in Dublin for their October State Board Meeting, Wednesday and Thursday, October 2 and 3.

The TCSG State Board is the governing board for all 22 technical colleges in Georgia and is responsible for establishing standards, regulations and policies for the operation of the TCSG. The Georgia Governor appointed members represent all areas of the state and meet ten times a year at various technical colleges throughout the state.

“We are honored to of had the opportunity to host the TCSG Commissioner Matt Arthur and the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia on our campus,” shared OFTC President Erica Harden.

“This is the first time OFTC has hosted the state board, and we always welcome the opportunity to highlight our 11-county service area and the services the college provides. It’s also an opportunity to show off our beautiful facilities and to highlight any needs the college has,” she continued. “Currently, the college is requesting an upgrade to our Stewart Building which is the oldest building at OFTC.”

During the October meeting, attending state board members conducted their regular committee of the whole business and participated in state board committee meetings. Harden then addressed the board with a presentation on the college and committee members were taken on a tour of the College’s Dublin campus.
