Graduates Honored with 2022 Spring Commencement Ceremony
During Oconee Fall Line Technical College’s (OFTC) 2022 Spring Commencement Ceremony & HSE Graduation, nearly 130 credit and High School Equivalency (HSE) graduates were honored as they walked across the stage in Dublin, Thursday, June 2.
Graduates received degrees, diplomas and technical certificates of credit in a variety of high-demand fields like Nursing, Cybersecurity, Manufacturing, Commercial Truck Driving, Business Management, Early Childhood Care and Education, high school equivalency diplomas, and more.
“We cannot tell you enough how excited we are to watch you walk across the stage to receive your credential tonight,” shared OFTC President Erica Harden as she addressed the graduates. “Your hard work, determination, and perseverance is the reason you are here today and it’s inspiring.”
“We are so proud of you, and we hope you always know that OFTC is family. We wish you all the best as you enter this new chapter of your life and career. We know you are prepared to do great things.”
Joshua Kight, Mayor of Dublin, addressed the graduates as keynote speaker and recognized the class for their accomplishments.
“All of you share this in common – you are coming out of school, and you have skills. You have useful knowledge,” Kight said. “You are the healers and the builders, and if we are to build a better community, it depends on you.”
“You have the skills to act,” he continued, “not just to talk and create paperwork, but the power to act. You have the skills to make meaningful contributions to your family and your community. You have the skills to earn a good living and to provide for your family. You are ready. It’s time to begin.”
