Forty-Four Grads Walk during OFTC’s Fall 2019 Commencement

Forty-Four graduates were honored during Oconee Fall Line Technical College’s (OFTC) Fall 2019 Commencement Ceremony held on the college’s North Campus in Sandersville, Thursday, October 24.

Graduates received degrees, diplomas and certificates of credit in a variety of high-demand fields like Business Management, Criminal Justice, Health Care Assisting and more. A total of 77 awards were conferred during the ceremony.

I extend my warmest congratulations to all of you receiving awards tonight,” shared Erica Harden, OFTC’s President while addressing the graduates. “It is my hope that you have happiness when you leave this place. Thank you for being a part of our family and thank you for being a part of OFTC.

Patrick Wilson, Senior Pastor of New Birth Christian Ministries in Tennille, Ga., served as keynote speaker and used the account of Joseph’s life in the Bible to encourage the graduates to live their dreams.

“Remember your dreams,” Wilson shared. “I am sure there were times when you were not always encouraged to keep moving forward. Times when others tried to stop you from achieving your goal. There may have even been times you thought you weren’t going to make it. But I want to encourage you tonight to keep on dreaming.”

Wilson also reminded the graduates about the importance of their words. “Words create your world,” he said. “Not if, but when.”

“Tonight, I’m going to be bold and confident and say not if but when to you graduates. I declare and I decree that some awesome things will happen in your life. And I decree that you will receive increase. I declare that you will make a big difference in someone’s life. Not if but when you land your dream job. When you choose to move forward you will succeed, and you will prosper. You will be a success,” he continued. “We all have an assignment in our lives. You have purpose and you have promise waiting on you to get out there and make it happen.

“And just like Joseph,” Wilson added, “you too can overcome.”
