Cosmetology Graduates Receive Pin During OFTC Ceremony
Graduating Cosmetology students at Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) participated in an OFTC Cosmetology Pinning Ceremony signifying the completion of their educational requirements and required salon hours on Monday, December 3 at the College’s South Campus in Dublin.
“We’ve been doing the pinning since the first graduating cosmetology class in 2009,” shared Lisa Jones, Cosmetology Instructor at OFTC. “Students really enjoy this special event because it’s an accomplishment to complete the 1500 hours they’re required to have for their state boards.”
During the ceremony students were pinned with a pair of shears and received a certificate signifying the completion of their 1500 hours, which is the last step before taking their state boards and graduation.
“I’ve enjoyed working with these ladies for the past year,” Jones said. “It’s awesome to see their weaknesses blossom into strengths from the beginning of the program until now. I always look forward to seeing where their career choice will take them.”
Participating students were: Mayleigh Adams, Norwood; Shelby Haggard, Rockledge; Tori Singletary, Dublin; Sydney Fleming, Dublin; Mary Beth Rogers Holst, Tennille; and DeLanah Hillis, Dublin.
