Byrd Receives Randy Helton Family Scholarship from OFTC Foundation

Jaylen Byrd of Wrightsville was recently named recipient of the Randy Helton Family Scholarship for the fall 2021 semester by the Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) Foundation.
Byrd is enrolled in the Business Management program on the college’s Dublin Campus.
The Randy Helton Family Scholarship was established in 2019 by Trustee of the former OFTC Foundation North to honor long serving Trustee Randy Helton and his service to the college and the Foundation. Helton and his family continue to maintain funding for the scholarship.
Recipients of the scholarship must maintain a 3.0 GPA, submit an essay on why they chose OFTC, and must have a faculty recommendation.
“Jaylen is the epitome of what the Helton Family looks for in scholarship applicants,” shared Kathy Aaron, Executive Director of the OFTC Foundation and member of the Helton family. “Jaylen has been able to maintain a GPA of 4.0 during the current pandemic.”
“The Foundation wishes to congratulate Jaylen on his accomplishments and on being named the scholarship recipient,” Aaron added.
