Antonio Bell Named OFTC’s 2022 GOAL Winner

Antonio Bell was announced as Oconee Fall Line Technical College’s (OFTC) 2022 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) winner during the Dublin Rotary Club Meeting on Friday, December 17.
GOAL is a statewide program within the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) that honors excellence in academics and leadership among the state’s technical college students.
Nine students were nominated by instructors for this year’s competition and competed in a series of interviews and evaluations by a selection committee made up of representatives from local businesses and industries; they were judged on qualities like academic achievement, personal character, leadership ability and enthusiasm for technical education.
This year’s selection committee consisted of representatives from both the Dublin and Sandersville Rotary Clubs: Jan Horadan (Sandersville) and Sam Williams and Jenny Nash (Dublin).
Of the nine competitors, four were chosen as semi-finalists: Taylor Adams (Baldwin), Welding; Antonio Bell (Laurens), Business Management; Kaitlin Harrington (Dodge), Diagnostic Medical Sonography; and Christopher Wilson (Dodge), Business Management. All four were honored during the Rotary Club meeting and Bell was announced the winner at the close of the meeting.
As the college winner, Bell will compete in regional judging against winners from other TCSG colleges in February and will represent OFTC at the state-level in Atlanta in April when one student will be named the statewide 2022 Goal winner by the TCSG.
This year’s other competing students were Jamison Barnhill, Brandy Hobbs, Masheiva Josey, Lawanda Mills, and Natalie White.
