Adult Education Students Connect to College Programs

Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) Adult Education students learned of numerous career opportunities available to them upon completion of their GED during the 3rd Annual Adult Education Career Expo hosted on the college’s South Campus in Dublin, Tuesday January 24.

Students from several of the adult education centers attended the event, including the college’s North Campus in Sandersville, Wilkinson, Bleckley, Dodge, Telfair, Wheeler and Jefferson County locations.

“We want our students to know what opportunities lie ahead of them,” shared Tiffany Lofton, Dean of Adult Education at OFTC. “And by introducing them to college programs, instructors, and to local employers, this can be the push they need to stay the  course and finish well.”

Former GED graduates attended and shared their personal stories of success – how they transitioned into one of OFTC’s credit programs – and current adult education students met with instructors of programs to learn of possible careers and with local employers to learn about potential job opportunities after graduation.
