TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) Testing

This test is used for competitive admission into the Practical Nursing and Associate Degree in Nursing Bridge programs at OFTC.

The test is comprised of five areas: reading, mathematics, science, English, and language usage.

OFTC Policy for TEAS Testing

  • OFTC requires that a practical nursing applicant must score a 59.5 to compete.
  • A student may test only twice within each academic year (AY18 is through August 1, 2018; AY19 is August 20, 2018 – August 5, 2019.) with the first TEAS test and retest being at least 30 days apart. The higher of the two total scores is used in the competitive formula.

Cost for the TEAS Test

Students must pay the $75 test fee in advance of the test. Your receipt from fee payment and your photo ID are required at the time of testing.  Payments can be made at:

  • North Campus (Sandersville) –  Janice Johnson in Business Office
  • South Campus (Dublin) – Business Office cashier in the W.R. Stewart Building
  • LOIC (Helena) – Cashier in front office
  • Jefferson County Center – Cashier in front office

Preparing for the TEAS Exam

As students make appointments, they are encouraged to request a TEAS information sheet to prepare for the exam from an Assessment Center representative. Information is also available at OFTC’s LOIC in Helena and Jefferson County Center in Louisville.

 

PSB (Psychological Services Bureau) Testing

This test is used for competitive admission into the Radiologic Technology programs at OFTC.

The PSB Health Occupations Aptitude Exam is comprised of five separate tests that measure abilities, skills, knowledge and attitudes important for success in the program and career choice.

OFTC Policy for Psychological Services Bureau (PSB) Testing

  • OFTC requires that a radiologic technology and diagnostic medical sonography applicants must score a 220 out of a possible 320 points on the PSB exam to compete.
  • A student may test only twice within each academic year (AY18 is August 28, 2017 – August 1, 2018; AY19 is August 20, 2018 – August 5, 2019.) with the first PSB test and retest being at least 30 days apart. The higher of the two total scores is used in the competitive formula.
  • Eligible PSB scores must be from the PSB Aptitude for Health Occupations 3rd Version (radiology/diagnostic medical sonography).

Preparing for the PSB Exam

As students make appointments, they are encouraged to request a PSB sample packet to prepare for the content and format of the exam from an Assessment Center representative. Sample packets are also available at OFTC’s LOIC in Helena and Jefferson County Center in Louisville.

An applicant for OFTC’s allied health programs may take the TEAS or PSB test at either the North Campus in Sandersville or South Campus in Dublin. See below for registration information.

Register for the TEAS or PSB Test

1. Students should contact OFTC’s Assessment Center at either North or South campus to make an appointment to register. Registration for the tests is not online.

2. Students must pay the test fee in advance of the test (TEAS is $75; PSB is $35). Your receipt from fee payment and your photo ID are required at the time of testing.  Payments can be made at:

3. Students taking the TEAS test must ALSO create an account online at ATI Testing prior to the day of testing.

 

On the Day of the TEAS or PSB Exam

1. Bring your receipt from fee payment and your photo ID. These are BOTH required at the time of testing.

  • South Campus (Dublin)

  • North Campus (Sandersville)
    Test location: Assessment Center, Room 109A

2. Students taking the TEAS test must bring their login and password to their online ATI Testing account to the test.
