2 Week Closure for All OFTC Campuses

In light of the current health issues and concerns resulting from the coronavirus (COVID-19), Oconee Fall Line Technical College has made the decision to suspend classes and activities on all campuses for two weeks.

In the best interest of its students, faculty and staff, and communities, OFTC will be closing all OFTC campuses beginning March 13, 2020 at 1 p.m. through March 27, 2020. The College plans to reopen all campuses on Monday, March 30, 2020.

“While a variety of factors influenced this decision, be assured that the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and our communities are always our primary concern,” stated OFTC President Erica Harden.

“We will be working to adjust our academic calendar and expand deadlines,” continued Harden. “Please be flexible as we move through this very rapidly changing situation. We will be communicating via email, the OFTC web site, and through our emergency management system with updates as needed over the next two weeks. I appreciate your patience as we work through this unprecedented situation. We are thankful to Governor Kemp and the Technical College System of Georgia Commissioner Greg Dozier for supporting the technical colleges as we make local decisions in the best interest of our communities.”

This remains a rapidly evolving situation, and OFTC leadership understands that members of our communities will have questions that this release does not yet answer. OFTC’s emergency management team is meeting daily and will continue to develop answers, adjust plans as necessary, and communicate frequently.
