Adult Education Prepares For Postsecondary Education
The transition from GED graduate to college graduate is an important step towards learning the necessary workforce skills required for employment.
Adult Education students at Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) recently had an opportunity to tour various programs of study in a variety of career fields at the College.
Students visit areas including Allied Health, Trades & Industrial, Transportation, Business Services, and Professional Services.
The adult education students saw the hands-on learning of credit students, both in classrooms and labs.
“The tours were a great opportunity for the students to see what programs OFTC has to offer and will, hopefully, encourage them to further their education upon completion of their GED,” said OFTC Transition Program Specialist Saketta Brown.
OFTC’s transition services program assists individuals who have earned their GED diploma to make the successful transition into a credit programs (associated degree, diploma, or technical certificate of credit) at OFTC. OFTC’s Transition Specialists are available to guide students through the admissions process, financial aid, career counseling, and other support services.
